Marco Palinar is an accomplished Web and Graphic Designer currently specializing in aesthetic, highly functional and user-centric design solutions that scale.

While he majored in Psychology and Political Science from the Philippines' premier state university (University of the Philippines) — Marco discovered early on that his real passion was in art, which resulted in his immersion into a career rooted in graphic design. And since 2004, he has been creating design solutions for various companies that he has worked with.

At present Marco is concentrating on creating highly-usable and aesthetic design solutions, targeting web applications and user-centric websites and more recently has delved into delivering these interface designs solutions to mobile platforms. He is currently a freelance web designer working on several web start ups as Chief User Interface Designer.

When Marco is not busy losing sleep hunched over Ailish (his Unibody Macbook Pro) doing client work — you'll usually find him rocking out at gigs with his band, Sanity Kit.

A lot of times people ask me what I use in designing and coding, so just to put this to rest:

• I design with Photoshop (web & print) and Illustrator (print, iconography & branding).
• I slice and prepare images with Fireworks.
• I code with Textmate and debug with CSSEdit (but still code my css with Textmate).
• Unfortunately I still need to have Windows around for testing. I use Parallels Desktop for that.
